In recent years, a number of female students and disciples of Swami Maheshwarananda have reported that he sexually harrassed them. Reports have come from several countries, some from long-standing disciples of many years. Both Maheshwarananda and his organisation have denied the validity of these allegations. However, a number of investigative print media journalists have been following some of these cases and found the testimonies of the former disciples reliable and believable. Additionally, some long-standing disciples of Maheshwarananda have left the organisation after careful probing of the allegations.
